Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we meet?

All of our sessions will be held virtually through the program Zoom, which allows us to see and hear each other, and also allows me to share my screen, so that we’re on the same page no matter what we’re working on. All you’ll need is a webcam and an internet connection, no need to trek out in the Michigan winters.

***For clients in the Sault Ste. Marie area, I can meet in person at your place of business.

What can I expect?

A money coach is super similar to a fitness trainer. I am here to help craft a personalized plan based on my expertise that will give you a leg up on trying to figure everything out on your own. In addition to helping you craft your budget, I’m here to keep you on track and give you that extra little push that really helps you get results.

The best way to see if coaching is right for you is to sign up for an Intensive. It’s a 90 minute standalone session where we establish a basic plan and give you all the tools you need to craft your money plan. You have no obligation to continue coaching after this session unless you feel that it would be valuable to you to continue working together toward your goals.

If you do choose to continue on to a program I’m there with you every step of the way, helping you implement the plan we put into place. There are always hurdles to overcome and they’re much easier when you have someone there to help you over them. The programs aren’t generic run-of-the-mill financial info you can get from any blog. It’s super personalized to your situation, so we work on the things you need and don’t waste time on things that don’t apply.

Why do people hire a financial life coach?

This can be for a variety of reasons such as:

  • Money is something that causes you to worry or is a big stressor in your life

  • You feel like you were made for more

  • You are doing “fine” financially but want to be doing great!

  • You recently experienced a life change - marriage, divorce, graduation, job change, birth of a child

  • You know what you should do but need some accountability

  • You want to know confidently that you’re doing the best things you can with your money

  • You have a goal you’re not sure how to tackle - debt payoff, education, a new house, a big vacation

  • You’re not sure how the choices you’re making today are impacting your future goals

  • You and a significant other are not on the same page

  • You “make good money” and yet still don’t know where your money goes or feel confident you’re managing it well

  • You feel in control but you would like an objective opinion or perspective

What’s the difference between Financial Coaching and Financial Advising?

A financial advisor provides a line of products such as insurance, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. that are designed to help manage your money. At Superior Money Coaching, I do not sell any financial products.

My services are fee-based only so that I can focus on doing what is absolutely best for my clients. I do not accept payments from any third parties so that my focus does not waver.

Once we have built the foundation of good money habits, it will typically lead to the need for financial advising services down the road, so that you can have proper investments and insurance to protect the wealth that you build.
